No it doesn't show up, I did have premiere open when I did it, though i've restarted the program and restarted the computer.

It just doesn't allow me to change anything:

Should I try installing it again? Normally I would but I'm not sure if doing that could cause issues with view videos having two of the same codecs installed.

Where are those options coming up under? The term "rendering" is being used incorrectly in talking around here a bit - you should be saving the video, not playing with the settings premiere has for preview video. I could be totally off base here (haven't exported anythign in so long my memory is a bit foggy) but explain your process for exporting your video.

uncheck optimize stills (from what I've heard it can speed up rendering previews...but can mess up your export)
He said that the comopressor should be huffyuv but mine wont let me change from DV NTSC.

As for how I export I leave everything default.

Kariudo meant export settings. You also have to put losslessly encoded clips into premiere... that's not an option in the settings, that's something you do outside of Premiere when you prep your footage.

Oh, so is that during the process of either ripping it from the DVD or converting it into another format?

Which then have premiere just detect what it was encoded with in the export settings as what ever you converted it to be?

That IS the converting it into a suitable editing format part.

No, Premiere will export it any way you want it. Some people, in fact, have issues exporting in HuffYUV from Premiere and instead export completely uncompressed.

I'ma guess thats because thats the term Sony Vegas uses for "export video file"
it doesn't have an "export" in the menu.

Thank you,

So a program like Virtualdubmod will take a video and convert it into and editable format, and since I have installed huffyuv-2.1.1 I would use that as my compressor, which is a lossless encode of the video.

Then I edit it in premiere and export it. Though as I remember seeing and uncompressed version can be quite large, such as I am using a demo of river past video cleaner which gives you 2 mins of encoded video that you want. The current video I have done this to was originally 170 mb and just two mins of it is 585 mb.

You mentioned that some people have issues with exporting Huffyuv from premiere and have to do it uncompressed, which would be a extremely large file size wouldn't it? Is there a better encoder to use that will allow premiere to export it in a compressed format or is there another way to do it with HuffYUV.

Also I want to thank you for you help, you've replied to a lot of my threads in multiple forums here, and it's been very helpful for me.

After editing, you export from Premiere any way you see fit (most likely either with HuffYUV or Uncompressed in your case) and then compress your video in whatever format you want for online distro, con submission, etc.

<_< lots of things to keep an eye out for when you start preparing to compress it. I'll have to look at Interlacing quite a bit more to get a good grasp of how to avoid issues with it.

That guides very thorough :) intense to read after awhile though XD. Thank you though :).
