Ok then well I guess it would be wiser to go through it one by one. DOes anybody know anything about the Itunes Question?

Having some problems with Virtual dub. Ok Everything goes smoothly until I try and save the file and replace the old file. It says it cannot access the file because it is being used by another person or program. What am I doing wrong?

Are you trying to save the lagarith or huffy codec encoded avi over the top of the divx one?

Overwriting a file is the same as deleting it then writing a new one with the same file name. But movie files are far too big to fit into memory, so VirtualDub constantly reads the source file while writing the new file. It needs the old file to make the new file.

To fix it, save the new avi as a new filename, then only delete the old one when it is finished making the new one.

Incidentally, I always just choose the bits of the anime that I want and just encode those as little clips with VirtualDub. Saves a lot of space compared with encoding the whole thing, and short clips are more manageable in the editing app. It does mean that you need to have VirtualDub open most of the time though and put up with the delay as it encodes the clips.
