Photoshop and AMVs?
Hello everybody! ^^
How can I work with Photoshop to make a good AMV? Or rather... how can I edit a Video with this programm?
I saw some very good AMVs and the author told me, that she work with Photshop to make effects and remove subtitle. But I thought, that Photoshop is only a graphic programm for pictures, how can I edit a Video with that? oO
For example I want to remove words like the subtitle of the song-lyrics in the beginning. So that I can use it for my video...
Can I really make this with photoshop or do I need another programm for editing subtitles?
Thank you. ;>

Quick question: Do you have any experience with graphic design or editing with a program like Photoshop?
If the answer is no then it might not be worth the bother. Unless you don't care about quality. *shrugs* Basically what you would have to do is save each frame of the video clip you have as a series of bitmap images, you can then edit each individual frame to your liking and then put them all back together in Premiere.
Of course, frame level editing is EXTREMELY tedious and generally requires a high degree of graphic design ability if you want anything to really turn out good. If all your looking for is to remove subtitles it would be far less hassle just to buy the DVDs and rip the video without the subtitles.

Yes, I have some experience with photoshop. ^^
I don't only want to remove subtitles... I want to edit also some Szenes like this Video: Naruto - Whisper of the Beast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6Z8h4RqtTE
There are editings like the photos on the table.... that's not the original Szenes... and I heared that this can be make with Photoshop... ^^
The quality shouldn't become too bad. I don't care about a little bit. ^^

I use VirtualDub, it can output a video as a series of numbered bitmap images. Once you edit them you just import them into the video editing program like you would anything else (sounds, music, video clips) and then just reassemble them in the right order. There are also some other programs like AnimationShop and Adobe AfterEffects that make it easier in that they'll reassemble the files for you.Dragenis wrote:But how can I do it with PS?Purge wrote:yes you can do it with photoshop - its a image editing program - it makes pictures -

After Effects is kinda like a "motion photoshop"...so you may do better to pick it up and actually animate masks instead of editing frame by frame...if you do it in PS, you might have more inconsistencies as opposed to being able to see all your frames and scrub between them during the process to see how it's looking.
