Okay... this is pissing me off.
I'm trying to use the Track matte effect for a video and I'm only using Premiere Pro 7.0 (yeah I know... blame my dad ) to make the effect since I can't do it in 6.5. I loaded two fake AVI clips made using VFAPI and the matte image. I did all the stuff you need to do and I go to render and the program crashes. I tried cutting into 1 second segments but it still dies. The clip is only 10 seconds long so I don't have Premiere Overloaded with a lot of crap.
Before you ask, my PC specs are:
OS: Windows XP Media Center
Hard Drive(s): 225GB + 160GB + 400GB External
Processor: Pentium D 820 w/Dual Core Tech
RAM: 2GB dual channel DDR2
Video Card: 256MB nVidia GeForce 6800
and no clip is DivX or XviD.

I'm assuming it renders fine when you don't have the footage for the track matte in there? What format is the matte image you're using? That might be the problem. Do some quick render tests, like try taking off the track matte effect then try deleting the image then try deleting the clips and see what works and what doesn't. If it's either your image or the clips that's the problem, try changing them to a different file format or compression type.
