audio editing question w/ Premiere Pro v1.5
Is it possible to use Premiere Pro's audio editing tools and effects to remove the BGM of a given song so you hear only the lyrics? I've got a sound rip of an announcer from a fighting game I'd like to use in an upcomming project. But I'm not going to bother if I can't at least soften the background music that accompanies his voice.

I'm not aware of ANYTHING that can do that, unless of course speech is in one channel, left/right, and the music/sound effects in the other. You could also trying phasing frequencies, so that you only get you want, but again, it's probably all mixed so there's only a slim chance your going to get what you want.sayde wrote:Is it possible to use Premiere Pro's audio editing tools and effects to remove the BGM of a given song so you hear only the lyrics? I appreciate the quick reply
You would'nt happen to know the name of the audio effect I'd need to use in order to do this, would you? (As you can see, I haven't any reason up till now to mess with premieres audio effects. So I'm not sure of exactly how to go about phasing the frequencies.Orwell wrote: You could also trying phasing frequencies, so that you only get you want, but again, it's probably all mixed so there's only a slim chance your going to get what you want.

Experiment, low/high band pass, I think EQ will too. Just apply random ones to your audio and see what you get. The only thing I do with Premiere's audio function is use the transition, as I've found it to do a excellent job blending two audio pieces together for when you want to either shorten the song, or join two different pieces.
