Premiere Pro Image Resize Problem
Hey hey, my Premiere Pro keeps importing image files and squishing them to 640x480 even when the native resolution of the pictures is 720x480. I found nothing in the "Still Image" or "General" tabs that mentioned this...
And isn't there a "resize to project" somewhere?
Thanks,
-kari

1) You set the project settings when you start.
2) The diference occurs from the diference in PAR. But you can still edit in either PAR/Resolution if you keep track of it all and set your project/footage dimensions properly.

Sorry to be a noob, but what is PAR and how can it be edited? Again, the problem is not that the native resolution of the image is wrong, but that Premiere is automatically resizing it as 640x480.BasharOfTheAges wrote:1) You set the project settings when you start.

I went into the project settings and selected "Scale clips to project dimensions when adding to sequence" but it had no effect, even when I re-imported the images into the project.

PAR - Pixel Aspect Ratio, It's the shape of the pixel. TVs have rectangular pixels and monitors have square ones, so the image would look wrong if sized for 1 vs the other... 720x480 (PAR of 0.9) is the same as 640x480 (PAR of 1.0).
IIRC you can't change a project's settings once you start the project in Premiere, but you have complete control of the project resolution when you start a new project.

I began a new project and selected the "Scale clips..." but it still had no effect. What would you recommend changing in the settings?BasharOfTheAges wrote:PAR - Pixel Aspect Ratio, It's the shape of the pixel. Again, sorry to be a noob, but if there's a way to fix this without starting a new project, what would you suggest I do?
