Effect wanted somehow

Post by shrink_laureate » Wed Jan 16, 2008 3:21 pm

I'd like to make an effect that adjusts the opacity of a video clip as a result of the volume of an audio track. In the case if a regular rhythm, this would result in the video pulsing to match the beat. With that effect as an ingredient, I could then construct a wide variety of interesting results.

If the real effect isn't possible, would it be possible to use a beat finder to fake it?

I have Premiere Pro and After Effects CS3, though I haven't used After Effects much.

With after effet, you should try to use the part 2 of this tutorial. (I do not use AE, so I can not be more accurate)

Thanks. Uh... it looks like the answer is there if only I was able to understand it. :)

Use AE "Convert Audio To Keyframes" feature, than just parent it to the opacity of your clip.

...or you could do it manually, but nobody wants to do that.

It works! I think. There's plenty else about After Effects to confuse me, but thank you.
