Can't export uncompressed avi in adobe premiere

Post by baomon » Tue Feb 26, 2008 10:36 am

Hi all. Okay, so this isn't really anime-related but I hope you guys can still help me. So I took some footage from a birthday party using my JVC harddrive camcorder, and then on my computer I exported out into an uncompressed avi format (so the file size is about 1 gig per minute, 640x480).

I import it into Adobe Premiere 6.0, and it works fine, I can edit it fine, etc. I also mix in some other video files other people took with their digital cameras. So everything was all fine, until this morning when I tried to export my project. The video in the new file is all blank/black. There's no video, just sound.

I tried exporting in a number of different formats, but the video was all black; the sound was there, but there was no video. I tried to export the part in the timeline where the video was from the digital camera, and that works fine. But all the parts with the uncompressed video does not export video. I can export single image frames just fine though.

Anybody know what to do? Later tonight when I get home from work I'll try opening the project into Premiere Pro and see if that works, but I wanted to ask you guys just in case it doesn't work tonight. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you didn't just forget to check the "Export Video" box as well as the "Export Audio" one?

I did that once... ¬_¬;

Thanks for the suggestion Sereenie, but no, that's not it. I actually did export the whole thing, and everything is black except the parts which were from the digital camera. So I have a 10 minute video, with full audio, and there would be 5 minutes of blackness, followed by 1 minute of actual video (still in the same file), and then another 4 minutes of black video.

So I'm not sure what's the problem. it's not an unchecked 'export video' button, nor are the videos on different tracks or anything.

Hi all... so I went home, opened the project in Premiere Pro (instead of Premiere 6), and it worked! It exported, and everything was great.

But thanks for your help, AMV forum and members :)

Cheers,

- Bao
