Editing/Exporting issue

Post by SilverFreedoms » Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:46 am

So I am getting ready to wrap up my AMV and decide to have a clip fade into the last one, but when I press play the Movie Maker crashes or manages to stay on but fail to play the fading section of the movie. I tried to export it to see what would happen and the offending area plays fine but an area of colored static appears during the playback ( I'll try to get a screenshot if it will help)

So whats going on here ?

It's either one of two things:
1) You're editing with files that have a lossy codec (eg: avi files with a xvid or divx codec);
2) WMM is screwing with you, in which case you can't really do anything about it.
See what applies. If however it is the first, then you might want to read this.

Heh, WMM isn't really all that reliable because it can't handle very well projects, especially once they get a bit big. Your best bet might be esporting what you have done so far, importing it in another project and finishing the video there.
