The belief that you are the protagonist in your own life is a very dependent way of thought. Downright parasitic. It brings with it the preposterous notion that you’re the only one that matters. Even though there are six billion people in the world. And you are only one of them. Even the greatest of them cannot escape that fact

your original post needs like 10 more periods and three separate paragraphs
windows movie maker on vista and xp was sufficient to make a good amv, and it was intuitive, though crashy. it was only at a disadvantage because it was a linear editor, which means you either have to piece your video together from start to end, or put in placeholder clips to work out of order.
the new windows live movie maker is pretty difficult to use though, imo. they got rid of the clips window, the timeline is difficult to work with. the ribbon menu is horribly set up, there's like 8 functions wmm can do and they spread it across five different tabs. it's like they dumbed it down, except it's also harder to use.
i was considering going back from avisynth to wmm for editing, but after seeing wmm on windows 7, i'd only go to wmm in windows xp. avisynth is also a lot easier to work with in windows 7 now, with the pin taskbar thingy.

and again guys this is really just a post for people who really even haven started to make amvs or have tried but failed horribly and cant get the more advanced stuff. So you can say it sucks all you want but that doesn't help people get the right equipment.

At Portugal we have someone who we call "The WMM Master", because he can create art from it.
Yeah sure Vegas and Adobe programs give you a lot more resourses, but it doesn't matter if you ain't got the skill.
