WMM 2.0 Problem Error
Well, I'm on my bros Windows XP comp, and I have an error. I want to make my first WMM 2.0 video, yet this comes up when I try to import a .AVI downloaded clip that usually works on 1.0.
"C:\Documents and Settings\Beck Falwell\Desktop\dbz clips\dbz177-1warmup.avi could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box."
Help? Lol.

Well I figured out THAT problem now I have THIS one
The file C:\Documents and Settings\Beck Falwell\Desktop\dbz clips\dbz177-1warmup.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

I'm assuming you're downloading this stuff from [site name removied].
Just download the codecs they have there. Like right underneath the clip, there's a little link saying 'Codec DivX' or 'Codec XviD'
Download the two of them, start up Windows Movie Maker, and try to import the clip again.
[MOD 403: please refrain from posting site names with illegal downloads]

save yourself the trouble, and instead of trying to edit with footage encoded with divx or xvid just read thisDark Velocity EX wrote:I'm assuming you're downloading this stuff from [site name removed]

I'm not putting it on the site though. Plus, it's part of the Fair Act thingamabob because it's CLIPS not full movies and stuff. Ask Wikipedia. And thank you. I tried the Codec on [once again, site name removed] and it was in Spanish or something and I can't speak two languages. Plus meh friend Crocodile told me about DBArena.

First off, download GSpot v2.21. Open the AVI in GSpot and it will be able to tell you what codec the AVI video files you have are encoded with. It will also tell you whether the proper codec for playback is installed.
Then report back here what codec(s) GSpot reports as used. (I'm betting on the XviD codec.)
