Exactly, just because it hasn't happened to you (yet) doesn't mean it won't. It used to happen all the time to me back when I used wmm. :/ But I got over being a lazy shit and just did as the guides said. the guides wouldn't lie to you for the hell of it.

No. The worst time I ever had on WMM was during my 2nd video, everytime I switched out of the timeline view it crashed. I was using like 20 meg fansubs then though. It's stayed pretty tolerable with every single vid I've done though.Esrhan wrote:Does this mean WMM gets more stable the more vids you make with it? I like that.Cornwiggle wrote:2 videos when i first got into the hobby.Minion wrote:And how long have you worked with WMM by chance?

I had issues all the time with DIVX files in Windows Movie Maker (because thats what i was using when i first started) - first 5 videos to be exact...
the codec is unstable and just unsuited (lossy) for editing... :/ deal

DivX gives me a lot of trouble as well, but Xvid is just perfect on mine. Gives me no problems at all.JaddziaDax wrote:

when i first started on wmm i made two kinds of videos
1. amvs made from fansubs
2. videos of my family from files made from my digital camera
now which type gave me trouble and which one didnt?
looking back, i never had an issue making music videos of footage i took with my digital camera, but amvs gave me all sorts of hell because i was using downloaded fansubs....
XVID is a compatable codec with DIVX as was said before JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE TROUBLE WITH IT DOESNT MEAN THAT OTHERS WONT HAVE TROUBLE WITH IT....
infact Lagarith with no sound works perfectly fine on my wmm...
