New at making AMVs...
Okay, so I've read some tutorials and watched some examples on You Tube and I think I get the general concept on how to make an AMV. Next comes the hands-on approach where I mess around a lot with various controls to learn what they do... and I've already run into a problem.
I am using windows Movie Maker 2.0... and I am trying to anchor a specific clip to a specific part of the song, only problem is it won't move over. It's almost as its forcing me to start from beginning to end... but I don't want to. If I insert blank clips just to move the clip where I want, It's just going to get pushed around when I start editing the clips that come before it and therefore, will screw up what I was trying to do in the first place. Is there any way to anchor them down or am I already screwed?
Thanks for the help,
Loser

WMM is a linear editor. Meaning you have to do everything in order. It's also very frame inaccurate. Most other software people around here use are NLE's or non-linear editors - meaning you can freely move around the timeline doing sections as you please (personally, i find the ability to work on multile parts of a video at once one of the best ways to keep focused on getting work completed faster without compromising quality). Your best bet is to use software that's a bit more capible if you want to edit non-linearly. There are literally hundreds of threads about other editing software, so i won't bother listing them here. search around a bit and you'll find what you need.

I think I know what your talkin bout. I'm gonna add my 2 cents in, if you don't mind, Bashar. If you're also trying to time it, you can click on the specific video segment in the timeline and split it (split option is in the toolbar). I use WMM2 also.
And if that wasn't what you were goin for... heh. Sorry. BUT, if you didn't kn9ow that, congrats, you learn somethin new everyday.

I can claim the title as being the first person on a-m-v.org to submit an AMV with the artist KJ-52 on it. Yay. Hahaha.
