Creating Movie

Windows Movie Maker 1

I've been having problems lately when I use AVI clips such as off of episodes and more likely Movie Maker doesn't create the movie (or my amv) properly.
My first problem occured where if I attempted on creating the good quality footage (1500kb/s) or more it doesn't create the whole amv all the way unless I had it crappy quality (400bs/s) or so.
My second amv or my latest one doesn't create the whole project no matter what formatt I have it.
I don't know if its my computer being stupid or because I have all my material on a external drive.

little help please?

AMVapp is what I have
other then that I have DIVX with some supporting programs or what not.. filter thingy XP
