VirtualDub vs VirtualDubMod

I was wondering where others stand which is better VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod?

vdubmod is essentially just vdub with .mkv and .ogg support
so for the purpose of transcoding video I'd say vdubmod is better...though if you can't get something to load in vdub (and/or vdubmod) you can usually just use avisynth to get around it

as with most things it boils down to personal preference

Also:
- Nobody seems to be developing VirtualDubMod anymore, whereas VirtualDub is up to version 1.7.something
- Does VirtualDub have an integrated AVISynth script editor?

.. every Virtual Dub version had its own updates.

1.2 was your basic model; rather useless today yet a dream come true back then.
.. the old ways were "frame-by-frame" cropping and placing on the Lines.
.. this method usually forgot any filtering you were doing on that clip T_T

1.3 a - d worked with broken/improper AVI Timing and corrected it.

1.4 1 - 15 covered a number of issues including Music Syncing problems.

1.5 this series covered DVD's and had a few extra features for encoding plus it understood most avisynth scripts .. to a point.

1.6 tryed to integrate things with XP

1.7 still working bug's out with some filter issues.

1.8 should be aimed at Vista problems.

.. anyone who uses Virtual Dub has their favorite designs and those they use no more!
