I split frames alot.
When making my videos, I tend to use the split function a lot and end up with many tiny clips (often single frames). Adding effects and transitions to a series of splits don't really work well. I am specifically talking about jitter and the transition fade through black. How do you guys do it? (Vegas 8.0)

zoom in on the clip you want, place the line where you want those icky frames to be cut off at, and press "S" on your keyboard... or you can line your mouse arrow up on the side of the clip and click and drag it until the orphan frames are gone...
"orphan frames" are little blips of clips that are in the original source footage that flash for a second when people don't cut their clips properly.

I think what they're trying to do is a frame by frame effect, with cut segments, combined with another effect or transition. If that's the case, you can do two things. If it's a fade to black, the easiest would be to just create a solid colour (black) and fade it in on a higher layer than the effect footage. Or, you could render out that segment as uncompressed or Huffy, and then bring that back into Vegas, then apply whatever you want to.
