Anyway. Transitions are part of editing.. There's no right or wrong way. Here's some examples- "Never Gonna Stop Me" by Ilea uses almost exclusively hard cuts. You won't find any fades in the action sequences, while "Together" by Pwolf uses fade after fade.
Just use whatever works for you. :|

Some of the best AMV's I've seen have some great strait cuts with no effects in it. It's just time well to the music. Transitions are all about taste. Effects and transitions are both where you get to be creative, and where alot of plug-ins with scripting give you the edge.
I suggest reading up on some of the free vegas tutorials out there. Start slow and you'll get the hang of it.
I started using vegas in 1998, back whan it was still sonic foundry. Good old times, and I've only learned what I have through trial and error, and a lot of reading.

So after reading through the two comments and watching Pwolf's "together" amv, I guess ill go and just experiment and see what works for me.

And yeah, ill find some interestin articles to read around the web when i have the time
