Great Free (even paid if you upgrade) software Lightworks

https://www.lwks.com/

This was basically the most fantastic software I ever could have imagined a free, no-strings-attached movie making software could be.

The only drawbacks are:

1. I consider it medium (not easy, not super hard) to learn the mechanics of things, it's not intuitive at all how to physically make different options in menus show (depends where your mouse is waving and there's three different variations depending how up/down or left/right it is on a clip in the movie editing section.
2. Cutting a clip in half is impossible, you need to copy+paste the clip and trim both copies.
3. You can't apply VFX or watermark/text to multiple scenes by any automatic method, you need to manually add it to each clip.

Every other aspect of it is far better than I ever thought a free software could be, I was hesitant to even try making an AMV, this changed my mind but I admit it looks amateur as I am indeed amateur/new to it.

I was trying on Windows Movie Maker before this and it was so simplistic/bad I was giving up completely on AMVs.

This is what I made, if you care to see:

Try Davinci resolve. Way better than lightworks.
