I hear a lot of good things and bad things
about Adobe Premiere. It's a great program,
but I've been using Ulead VideoStudio 4 EVER.
It's a great program and I'm doing a little
shameless promotion for all those sick of
Premiere. I can still take these files through
VirtualDub and AE, so it's really no difference.
The biggest difference here is that when you
zoom or crop any frame or scene, there is a
lot less blur which makes removing logos and
subtitles a lot prettier and less hassle.
The biggest difference is some times you don't
get a full picture. So does anyone know how
I could clean the opening credits of a show without
having to do image editing, which is very time
consuming.

And also our software reviews aren't very
helpful to me. So could someone else give me a list of
what they consider the best editing programs.

The best editing program is whatever you are comfortable with. In the end, you make the video great, not the program.

Clean Opening and Closing credits can sometimes be found on the DVDs (moreso for the newer anime that aren't ThinPak collections from ADV). But for many older series, the only source might be the odd laserdisc collection (rare and expensive). And for everything else (including very new, just aired in Japan and not yet available on DVD anime), the only solution is to edit every frame by hand.

But, the american intro for Naruto is totally different from the japenesse one. Ack. What's a boy to do but frame by frame editing.

They don't provide the orginal Japanese opening on the Uncut Naruto DVDs? That would be strange.

They do, but unfortunately, it's not clean. Meaning there's text in the way everywhere.

When the person advertising it to me and telling me how good it is uses "4EVER" rather than "forever" makes me assume only the worst about it.

I'll stick to Premiere.

I don´t think so. For example in the german speaking countries a lot of DVDs are with out extras, because they don´t put much effort into it. So we import them from the U.S.A ^^'
