Hello guys,
Not sure if I am even using the right technical term here, but essentially, i am unable to render a video with XVID like I can on the desktop. I have all the codecs necessary to install, but when i try to render a project with avi, all those options i have on the desktop are missing.
Any idea why? is it because the codecs install in the 32 bit program files folder and not 64 bit folder like it should?
I have windows 7 64 bit by the way.
thank you

Re: Sony Vegas missing rendering codecs
.. I usually let Virtual Dub NAB or Zarx264gui do the final job;
they are finishing encoders and designed to make the best use of most codec's.
.. Editors, on the other hand, usually make horrible final encodings and usually
do not support the fine tunings that H264 can provide to MP4's.
.. now; I haven't noticed Xvid being available in my editor,
Xvid is usually part of the FFshow package and I use that for my Xvids.

Thanks for the reply.
One last question: so if I were to use vdm, then I guess I'd have to render the clips uncompressed? Phew.... I'll néed to get me an external. All my clips are in lagarith.

uncompressed-RAW clips encodes work the best.
lagarith, Core-Png, Huffy .. it takes a lot of space; yes,
but its worth it when the final encode is complete ^__^
