Anime Detour 2010 AMV and WTF Contests!
Anime Detour is once again holding our annual AMV contests! Our convention is being held April 23-25, 2010.
AMV Contest - Our annual AMV contest of the traditional variety. We accept entries in the categories of Drama, Action, Comedy, and Trailers. Our deadline for entries this year is March 23, 2009. (MAH BIRTHDAY, SO MAKE IT HAPPY AND BE ON TIME Y'ALL.)
AMV Rules and Submission Guidelines Here
Whiskey Tentacle Foxtrot Contest - Our infamous BAD AMV contest. This 18+ event is intended to find the most intentionally crappy AMV possible. Often to hilarious ends. Deadline for entries is Friday 5PM April 23, 2009. But you know I prefer to receive these things early if at all possible.
WTF Rules and Submission Guidelines Here
I'm looking forward to see what you creative people come up with for this year!

I know what you mean, but my wife is big into swapadvd.com, so shipping a cd is no issue for me.NS wrote:It is, Online submission = much more convenient.

Definetly convinient to do it online.
Definetly not even hard to print a cd and a piece of paper and take it to the post office too.

Yeah, and then you get there and wait and wait in line and they make you "re-package" your disc even though you packaged it the way they had you do it last time and fill out forms and they ask you 10 million questions and want to try and up-sell various types of insurance or speedier delivery and by the end of it you're wondering why you even bothered. I'm not saying "Omfg, every con must have online submissions!" but to say that it's not hard to send it manually isn't exactly right, it's closer to a "light hassle". If you made the video specifically for a convention then sending in the mail is perfectly fine, but not so much when you're just trying to get exposure for a video you already made and sending it to a few cons, which is (I think) what NS is doing and why he wants online submission.
