*looks at finalist list again* *squints*

Rats!

Well, looks like my entry for Otakon's a no-go this year as far as the contest goes. A shame, too, because the video I really wanted to enter was not even halfway finished at the time of the deadline. That video is going into AWA Pro, hopefully, if I can finish it in time.

I did tweak my eventual Otakon video, but something about it visually still bothered me. It's an enigma to me, but probably something I overlooked while ripping the footage. At least my video will still get played to about 260 people at the Overflow instead of 2600 (2x) at the Contest showings. :)

Better luck next year for me, and good luck to all y'all in the contest!

Question regarding trivia cards:

Should they be AMV specific (this is an AMV audience) or should they be more general? As much as we love our community, I wonder how much fans actually know? I mean something like:

What handle is AMV creator Hsien Lee better known as?
A. Doki Doki
B. Kusoyaro
C. Vlad G. Pohnert (LOLOLOL)
D. Koopiskeva

I'm sure we (as fans/creators) can come up with some funny stuff, but I wonder if it's too specific? If you're fine with it though, I think I can come up with a few good ones ;).

Lastly, congratulations to all the winners. I am definitely sad that I did not submit a video and can't attend (I'll be rioting with the Greeks in Athens! :uhoh:), but good luck! However on a positive note, I am at least glad to see people who's videos I enjoy still submitting after all these years. Hopefully I will have enough discipline (and time) to finish at least one more romantic sap-fest!

Straight from our new program director. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, folks.

"As far as the AMV Overflow, that's what we have to deal with. There were
a number of industry titles and premieres Ree had to put in there and
that's the time slot. If the event is as big and as popular as expected
people will have to adjust checking out accordingly. The front desk can
hold baggage, check out can be done from the TV. It should not be that
detrimental.

All in all, Sunday is a bad day to schedule anything so I would
appreciate your understanding in being flexible here."
