Not at all what I was thinking, actually. I didn't even make the connection until I read this. >_> Though I totally know what Kit is thinking of making, we had an idea a few nights ago, and when Kit posted I realized how well it would fit the theme.

I'm a huge fantasy anime buff, so I'm thinking a big compilation video. Now to find a good song....

I still say the Lain video was a drama, not comedy, though.

It helps a lot if you've seen serial experiments lain. It helps a bit more if you've heard the original version of that song.

Assuming I have done neither of those when in fact I have. I've seen Lain, know the song Friday. The sound of the song used was quite dramatic. The shots of the video were also dramatic. I did chuckle at a couple of scenes (like the line "I see my friends"), but for the most part, I felt quite moved watching it. I thought it might have been more comedy if the original song were used, but my boyfriend (who loved it) disagreed. Whatever. Each has their own perception and mine is if you use a serious-sounding song with a serious anime it will more than likely be a serious AMV.
