Re: HOLIDAY MATSURI AMV CONTEST
I have a few questions:
1. I know it is a maximum of three entries, but can we only send one per category, or can we potentially send up to three to one category?
2. You list the categories:
. Best Comedy
. Best Drama
. Best Action
. Best Romance
. Honorable Mentions
. Judges Favorite
. Best Theme: Holiday!
. Best in Show!
But this seems like a list of just awards you are giving so which of them are actual categories? I'm assuming comedy, action, drama, and romance are categories, but is Best Theme:Holiday a category as well, or is it integrated in the other categories?
3. Going off of the last question, is Best Theme: Holiday specifically Christmas, or is it any holiday?
4. Most contests have a rule against using intros or credits, is that the case here or are they allowed?
5. What about watermarks? Though I do not personally have any videos with watermarks, I know there will likely be submissions with them, and contests usually have a rule against that as well.
6. You give us an email to send our entries to, but there does not seem to be any kind of submission form so I have no idea what information you want us to send to the email. For example, most submission forms at least include: legal name, preferred name, anime, song, category, and, of course, the link to the video itself.
Your rules seem to be sort of incomplete, and leave out a lot of information most contests have so this is where my confusion is coming from...

Re: HOLIDAY MATSURI AMV CONTEST
Sorry! My team and I usually handle this with ease, but time hasn't been kind to us recently. One member works full time now, another went back to school, one had to go into surgery, and I had to travel. You can still enter since we don't have that many entries, so let me answer your questions:Xophilarus wrote:Tried emailing as well, and haven't gotten a response :/shorisquared wrote:No answers to questions yet? 1. I know it is a maximum of three entries, but can we only send one per category, or can we potentially send up to three to one category?
Send any video you want whether you have one or multiple of the same category. I have one entrant who only sends me actions lol. Just send whatever you want
2. You list the categories:

These are available categories available for a prize. The typical categories are action, comedy, and drama/romance but if we like a video or if there are no videos that fit the category, we can add or subtract the awards/categories.
3. Going off of the last question, is Best Theme: Holiday specifically Christmas, or is it any holiday?
Best theme:Holiday can be for any holiday. It is a christmas con, but we're not obligated to give the award exclusively to only Christmas ones.
4. Most contests have a rule against using intros or credits, is that the case here or are they allowed?
We don't mind them. They can deter the judging if they're to long, but we don't mind them. I used to do logos on my videos awhile back.
5. What about watermarks? Though I do not personally have any videos with watermarks, I know there will likely be submissions with them, and contests usually have a rule against that as well.
It depends. If its a tv station watermark (as in you download the footage or bought bootleg) we don't judge and accept small watermarks like that. The ones we don't like are the ones that feature the editors name in a large font overlaying the entire video. Can't enjoy a video through a large logo.
6. You give us an email to send our entries to, but there does not seem to be any kind of submission form so I have no idea what information you want us to send to the email. For example, most submission forms at least include: legal name, preferred name, anime, song, category, and, of course, the link to the video itself.
Funny. I usually ask for name of editor and name of video. If the email doesn't provide the editors name, I usually ask for one or use their youtube name, their real name, or email id. If any of them win, I contact them for their home address.
Sorry for the confusion! We're usually better than this, but things have been pretty hectic lately. I mean this contest is literally a last second thing since there was barely any communication between us and the con.
The Con: You're hosting the contest.
Me: Cool..... wait..... we only have a month to do this!!!!
Sorry for the inconvenience and feel free to send us anything you got as soon as you can.
