Once again it is time for Hoshicon's AMV Contest to open!
We are accepting submissions now until June 17, 2016 at 11:59 PM EST.
However, if you do submit it at 4 AM while you were having computer issues, I will not mind. I usually look at contest entries at 9 AM anyways.
You can find all information for our AMV contest including submission forms and rules here.
There were not many rules that have changed regarding the contest, however please read them in order to refresh your memory.
Quick Rules:
- All AMVs must be longer than 30 seconds in length and shorter than 6 minutes.
- A person may submit up to four AMVs. Two will be picked as the best for judging.
- No subtitles, watermarks, logos, credits, or text that is unnecessary to the concept.
- Your AMV must have not premiered before July 1, 2015.
- Audio should be about 70% music.
- Must be 13+ appropriate so no gore, sex scenes, etc. No Boku no Pico.
- Please follow all technical rules.
I can also finally say that I am going to be more open to talk to regarding anything dealing with the AMV and Video Track as I can say that my team is really supporting getting my workload down haha! I've been manning most of programming for the past couple of years and getting to a track format is just what I need before passing my responsibilities to my assistant next year. However, I will still continue to be in charge of the AMV and Video Art Track as this is sort of a baby of mine!
I am totally open to any and all video track suggestions, so please email me by also going to the AMV Contest page, scrolling to the bottom, and clicking on the email! We are also currently looking for more staff for our AMV and Video Art Track to host main events as well. You can email me if you wish to run an event as I am hiring people right now until May. I will also be able to answer questions through here. Please note that Hoshicon 2016 will be July 15 - 17, 2016 at the Westin Charlotte Hotel. We will be in the middle of downtown Charlotte this year!
Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the support! Can't wait to see what you guys do!
