Handling such a huge contest takes time and we have a large judging circle and we want to be sure to the judges have the proper time to judge fairly and have time to review everyone's work... Then there is all the prep work in making sure the videos, graphics, titles, recaps really look nice and polished.. I don't want Jason to be worked to death as he assembles everything.

We work real hard to put on great show and we just need the time to do it so all those behind the 8 ball will just have to do the best they can

Not a problem Vlad - totally understandable. I've staffed Otakon enough times to know how much work goes into it. I'll figure something out - thanks for looking into it!

Alright, so here is the deal...

I usually keep the site open a bit over the deadline to ensure everything gets processed. SO, I will keep the Entries open till Saturday, Feb 18, 11:59 PM (MST) If something happens to come in up to then I'll accept it into the contest.. Is this an tiny extension? sort of..

But I would greatly appreciate for those who are planning to submit, please submit it as soon as you are able to as this will greatly help us to try and keep up.

ALSO, please be patient with us in getting back to everyone with any issues, we are working on trying to keep up with the last minute floods but we all do still have paying jobs to go to so limited time... If there is any issues with your entry, we will try to give some time for any fixes (if they are possible), but the closer we get to the deadline, the less time we can offer after it.

I do want to thank everyone who has so far entered, the AMV contest at SakuraCon is a very popular event and with everyone's help we want it to continue to be..

Lastly, since it's SakuraCon's 20th Anniversary, we have some stuff we will be doing in the AMV room for it which includes something to do with past AMV Contests! More on that in a bit.. So if you were planning to attend, this is the year to come

Thanks,

Vlad G Pohnert

With full intention of playing the devil's advocate, being a contest coordinator myself, if you have finished entries to submit SEND THEM NOW doggonit. Commit to your entry now and don't wait til the last minute like a prick. It only adds stress to the coordinators.
