They haven't released the specific videos or who made it in what category but all finalists received emails over a week ago.

What would this email say exactly. Because I got a email a week ago wishing me good luck in the contest, but that's all it said.

I don't know, unfortunately. I got the confirmation email too, about 2 weeks ago, and it didn't say anything about being a finalist.

I apologize if I just added more confusion by quoting the amvcentral.net post.

This is the specific wording of the email: We are pleased to inform you that an entry you have submit to Nan Desu Kan's 2018 AMV contest has been selected as a finalist! Your video(s) will be displayed in front of an audience of over 2,000 people on Saturday, September 1st, 2018. We will be mailing out entry badges with additional information shortly so if you plan to attend you will have your guaranteed priority seating. If you are unable to attend don't worry because we will be recording audience reactions for all the videos and sending them out individually to each editor after the convention has ended.

They were sent August 19th. I believe emails were only sent out to finalists, meaning nonfinalists didn't get an email of any kind apart from the initial confirmation emails, but I could be wrong. I didn't receive a nonfinalist email last year.

Shame I wasn’t a finalist. Had a lot of fun at the meet and greet though, it was nice getting to see everyone and all their hard work. Any!of you pros have some feedback for mine?
