Congrats to the winners! It was nice to have the opportunity to see my video with an audience. The audience really seemed to enjoy the trailer and comedy sections, there was a lot of energy in the room.

I'm a little concerned that "Acrimony" wasn't on the ballots, though. The people sitting around me were extremely confused. Was this a last minute addition? How did you guys go about dealing with this? The editors didn't even get ballots so I had to go grab one later.

I mean, I'll live (and Ileia's vid was dope so the result would almost certainly have been the same). That said, a slip-up like that just shouldn't happen.

Say what? A finalist wasn't listed on the ballot?

It's true. Unfortunately 'Acrimony' wasn't on the ballot we had printed. It was a late addition; we had a little time left in our screening and we were able to add one more high quality video to the finalists list that deserved a spot. 'Acrimony' was that excellent video. However, a mixup led to an older version of the file being printed. The FMV staff take full responsibility for this and we're truly sorry for it.

However, with that being said. Once the video aired and the mistake was realized, the FMV staff and video staff in both our screening rooms made sure to repeatedly remind attendees as they were leaving the room that if they wanted to vote for 'Acrimony' to just write it in and we'd count it normally. We started doing this as soon as 'Acrimony' finished airing, so anyone passing in a ballot who left before the completion of the show was also notified. It did receive a comparable number of votes to the other entries in the same category. Since it was also listed in the voting recap at the end with its name and ballot number, I believe it had minimal impact on the count. Nevertheless, I'm still extremely sorry for the mistake.

If you'd like to discuss the specific vote count, Judges' score (which is compiled with votes to determine the final winners list) and how your final score worked out, EnQuatre, send me a PM or email and I'll share the details.
