There is no clear-cut "Finalist" list for the Extreme Contest this year. We plan for all of the videos submitted to be shown during the late-night programming and voted on by the audience.

This was such a welcome surprise 🫢. I don't think I have every won a "Tech" award either. Thank you so much for this honor.

This contest really needs an overhaul.

1. Communications only on a-m-v.org: The fact that all of this information is only posted on a-m-v.org isn't very inclusive; there were neither emails sent out about who made finals/who didn't, nor any emails about who won. You basically have to hope everyone who entered uses a-m-v.org and knows how to find this information.

2. Ballots at the con/Presentation: The ballots didn't have the editors names on them, nor did the screening. If you are trying to find your entry or see if your friends/an editor you know made it in, you once again can only see this on a-m-v.org. If you aren't an editor, you would never even know this website existed, so there is no way the audience can find editors they like from the contest and grow our community. The entire presentation was shoddy, as an editor I’m not impressed.

3. The Judges and Staff: The staff didn't seem interested in the event they were hosting. When we spoke to one of them, they ignored my friend and I even when we were standing right in front of them. If you don't want to do this contest why are you there? This is my own opinion, but I think it would help to have editors on the judges panel to help bring that perspective to the contest and screening. Several of my friends who went to the viewing of this contest were disappointed, just like I was. Some of them active editors, others not. If this is a chore, maybe it's time to bring in some new people.

With respect to the Extreme AMV Contest: it was a similar experience to what sinisteas mentioned above.

There were 26 entries, with 6 of them containing 18+ nudity. 5 of them were from me, and 1 from an editor I know. The pattern: we both know about this site, which also goes back to sinisteas's first list item.

We usually do not provide full lists of Extreme contest videos, only the winner(s).

I understand that this is just following what the convention heads decided, although it may be time for them to rethink why they don't publish that list.
- Yunicon's HMV 18+ contest has the list given along with links (if provided, like YouTube channel) for the creators after the showing happens.
- Youmacon is pretty transparent about which ones are 18+, at least from what I saw last year.
