Now for some explanation... I took over the Animazement AMV Contest in 2018, and have been running it solo since then. I am the 4th person since Animazement was founded in 1998 to run the Contest, and it's always been done by no more than two people at a time. Since 2018, everything has run quite smoothly, but 2024 was, for the lack of a better description, a complete Disaster.

I have personally been dealing with some Health Issues the past few years, and a few weeks before the Convention, as Submissions were closing, I got very ill, which put me behind. To add insult to injury, we usually only get 40 or 50 submissions per year, but as we went from one contest to three, we received almost 170 submissions. I was also Quarantined to my Hotel Room during the Con, b/c our Guest List is always about 90% Japanese Guests, as opposed to other cons with more Domestic Guests, and the Con Directors didn't even want to risk me getting them sick. My AV Team did an amazing job without me, but there were still several Logistic Errors and Hiccups. This being said, the judging was not done at the Con Proper, but done at the end of Summer beginning of Fall.

I assembled a Panel Of Judges here in Fayetteville N.C., and we knocked out the judging. Afterwards, due to my Health Issues, I kind of got lost in my own head, and let Procrastination set in. Thus, we come to now.

I'd like to Thank several members of this Forum who invited me to join a Discord Group that consists of Individuals that Coordinate AMV Contests for other Cons, as well as many AMV Creators. They gave me a lot of Valuable Insight, which has prompted me to make some changes for the 2025 Animazment AMV Contest.

To start, we are adding Four more people to the AMV Staff, plus myself. I will oversee everything, but we will distribute to workload of the three AMV Contests to make things run more smoothly. Also, if any of us are sick, or have a Health Problem, there are Alternate Back-Ups for everything. We will also be opening for submission way earlier than usual (we are shooting for January 15th), but we will be closing submissions much earlier as well. In the past, I usually gave myself a week to put everything together for the attendees of the Con, but with three Contests and almost 170 Submissions, it's quite apparent we need more time for everything. So submissions will most likely close on May 1st, which will give the AMV Staff almost a month to put everything together. I know it sounds harsh, but if you can't get an AMV made and submitted in almost four months time, then it's on you. In the past, I have been bullied by people trying to submit AMV's after submissions close, and I usually cave, but with the insane amount of submissions, we don't have the time to stop, and judge submissions, then re-edit everything to work it into the contest.

Again, I apologize that it took six months for me to get this done, and out here to you all. I'd like to get all prizes out to the winners before we open submissions for 2025.
