Your right Vlad, there is nothing wrong with critisism, but there is a difference between critisism and other people thinking they are running the contest (which is where this is starting to go). Everyone seems to be complaining about change, but no one seems to understand that there have only been 1 or 2 very small changes.Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Yes, I agree with you in primciple, but then again I don't see any reason for not providing feedback and opinion. I always feel the AMV contest is for the fans by the fans... Frankly I always welcome feeback, opinions and even critism for any contests I run... Badmouthing or slander is a different thing, but I don't really see the case here...hackerzc wrote:
Now I am sorry to sound like the ass hole here, but someone has to do it.
LET THE MAN RUN THE DAMN CONTEST!
You are all bitching about the stupidest shit imaginable.
Matt supports Geoff in ANY decission he decides to make, so show some respect and stop whining because things are a little different this year. You are all just going to have to get use to the new changes.
The AMV contest is experimenting with some new things to keep everything new and interesting.
Just chill people!
Vlad
The first that deserves note is the minimum time has been changed to be a few seconds shorter. That really is nothing to complain about since it opens up the contest to music from TV show themes that are usually like 26 or 27 seconds long. And unless you make a video taking advantage of this new minimum then it dosen't really effect you now does it?
The second is the ADDITION of a new award. Why the hell would anyone complain about that? It gives one more person a chance of recognition. Oh, so the theme is "crappy and/or confusing" (in the words of Freako)? Simple solution........DON'T BASE YOUR VIDEO ON IT! It's NOT nesasary to enter the contest, and you WON'T be dissqualified because you didn't use it.
The only thing I can see wrong with the way things are being done, is that Geoff is being too diplomatic. He is giving everyone a choice in some things and you are all complaining (or critisising....depending on how you look at it) that the choices are not good enough. It would be better if he simply choose a theme and stick with it, then asking what any of us think.
