amv contest at comic con 04. I want one...
I wonder if there is a way of getting an AMV contest to go at ComicCon. I'll send an email to comic con to ask them. but if there are more people asking they might get something up really fast for the registration. I've already registered but I'd still like to watch some peoples amvs and have people view some of mine. I'd just be fun. I don't see why they don't have an amv contest. they are popular by AMV makers, in anime cons that have them. that I've heard of anyways. Lets make something go down and get a contest at comic con. if we have to someone could bring a projector and someone bring a laptop, then there we go an amv viewer. but that'd take alot longer than other ways.

Putting together an AMV contest takes *lots* of planning ahead of time, to not only manage the contest but manage associated things (such as printing out ballots). There also has to be a wide enough fanbase to make it feasable. Since ComicCon is a more general convention (at least as far as I'm aware), it really doesn't accomplish much to have an AMV contest when only a small minority of the attendees are going to be interested in it.
I'm sure you can have a SCREENING of AMVs, but a full-blown prizes-and-a-trophy contest is probably out of the question unless they definately know people care enough to attend.
