Based on the past couple of years, I wouldn't expect a list of finalists until the actual AMV contest starts! Sad but true. :(

well with the deadline so close to the contest, scott is probably swamp with a lot of work and con related things to post a list of finalists. plus, it's builds up suspense before the contest :P at least those who are in the contest know they are in :P

though, i would like to know, when is the awards ceremony?

Awards presentation is during the judgeing break in cosplay

all AMV editors who had a video shown in the Finals will be allowed seating in a reserved seating area for AMV editors only

Also a reminder,

any AMV editor who submitted a video to the contest, whether its in the finals or not, gets priority seating for the final contest. I will let these peopel in about 10 minutes before general seating so find a place near the door away from the line so I can find you.

Sorry to bother with such a silly question, but I was just wondering- is it necessary that we sit in the reserved area if we're in the finals? I'm just concerned because I don't want to ditch my 2 friends and leave them to sit elsewhere. :-\ Of course, if it's better to sit in the reserved area, they're adults now, they can handle it. :-P

You are not REQUIRED to sit in this area, but if you dont I have no conrol over how you get in, you'd have to wait in lien with everyone else.

I AM however trying to get enough of the reserved seats for AMV editors to allow for them to bring a limited number of their friends as well, thsi will depend on how many editors are on site to attend cosplay and how many they want to bring.

Best to check in with me at the tech desk following the AMV finals to check on availability

OK, thank you so much. And I don't mind waiting in line if necessary, but I'll come by the tech desk after the finals and ask about the reserved seating thing. In case you need to know, I'm just concerned because I will likely be with two of my friends and I don't want to leave one all by themselves.

I take it the tech desk will be at the site of the AMV Contest?

Pwolf- Yes, Der Cosplay is on Sunday night.

See you all this weekend!

though this might not be the best idea, but have your friends get in line and then goto the reserved seating and see how much room there is. then if there is plenty go grab them and sit there, hehe. if not, then maybe just wait with your friends and sit where ever they sit... if it's in the same building as last year (if i remember right it's the same location right?) then you can always stand in the back up on the balcony... thats what i did last year. i bet you there will be plenty of room though:P

Yeah, there was still a ton of room last year, and we were pretty far down the line, so I don't really have any concerns about getting in, and to be honest, I don't really care how well I can see the stage. . . I really did go for the AMVs, even though I wasn't in the contest last year. I'm still kind of shocked I'm even in the finals this year. ^-^

Like I said, I'll check with Scott after the contest, and then if he's not sure, I'll do what you said, and call them if they can come up with me. And yeah, it's the same location as last year, and even with the long line, it seemed like there was still room left over. Thanks for the suggestion, Pwolf.

I have the same problem, two freinds I don't want to ditch...

I'm leaving in about 3 hours, so I'm guessing that I'll have to play it by ear. (I'm not in finals, but still want to sit with my freinds durring the contest...)

Here's a question that I dout will get answered in time for me to read it, how long is semi-finals?
