Question! I was checking out the rules on the site, and it states we should include the anime/music. Do you want us to include our own bumpers then?

From a Yahoo AMV Group posting...

I went to this microscopic con today as they showed an AMV I made.
It's probably pointless to post about it but since this will undoubtly
be the only report ever made some might find it amusing.
All in all attendance topped at about 30 people at any given
time, I would say. The video room was nice, my estimate would
be a capacity of 150 people. Sadly the AMV show was not on the
schedule and the grand total of attendees throughout averaged at
around 10 people (which made me chuckle when thinking about Otakon).
Unfortunately with so little audience there was no perceptible
reaction to any of the vids (or maybe people thought they all sucked
The show started at 1pm, showing the runners-up/winners of the
contest. There were no proper/standard credits so I'll try my best to
describe the videos.
First runner-up (novice): Naruto/Ayreon/Day Eight: School
Action/drama video. Well made, but I couldn't understand
the lyrics during the chorus, it seemed like it belongs to
the "fast riffs = fighting" school of AMV-making. There was
a technical problem during this vid, as it was off-center and
missing about 15% of the right hand side.
Winner (novice): Excel Saga/Boney M/Rasputin
Comedy? Organizers took the opportunity to fix the centering
problem _while_ this AMV was playing, and it seemed to end
abruptly, only showed about 30 seconds total. Pity, seemed
interesting.
First runner-up (intermediate): No idea
I think it was comedy, basically super-deformed characters
lip-synching the song. It was cute, I guess.
Winner (intermediate): Bleach/(other credits just flashed by)
Action. Lots of edits, lots of cuts, couldn't make out the
lyrics. I'd have to re-watch to make any sort of sensible
opinion.
First runner up (pro): Rurouni Kenshin/Toshiro Masuda/Sadness And Sorrow
Drama. Nice and slow romantic instrumental.
Winner (pro): Ceres, Celestial Legend/Sarah McLachlan/Posession
Drama. Another nice vid, very similar in spirit to the
first runner-up.
Winner (overall): no idea (possible title: "Formula for Vengeance")
Loud action drama. Rather violent, again "heavy rock sections =
fighting".
Exhibition vids:
Final Fantasy X (I think). A nice romance AMV.
Full Metal Alchemist: well-made action vid, but the second
half sort of loses focus and equates heavy rock passages
with fighting. It might have been called "Providence".
My own AMV. Did not play at first, but fortunately got fixed,
only the first 10 seconds or so were lost. By now six people
left in the audience.
I guess they decided 10 AMVs was enough (or maybe those
were all the submissions they got!) In the end I left feeling
pretty much nothing one way or the other, I guess it was OK.
On the bright side I did get a chance to chat with Lisa
Furukawa a bit, she's quite a sweetheart!
PS. If anyone thinks it's worth posting this at the org forums
please go ahead, I don't have access to them myself (someone
might ask, although I really doubt it).

Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forstall my return.
