New Amateur AMV contest begins August 1st!

A couple people and myself are begining to hold a monthly AMV contest for Amateur(people who have never won an AMV contest in the past) creators! Because I've realized that the Majority of Amatuer creators can't win many contest when faced against the Pro's. So this is completly for Amateur's!!

So just letting everyone know, Submission will begin to be taken August 1st!

The only comment I have is that it will be hard to verify is someone who submits has won an award... Not all winners are posted here

D: I still consider myself an amatuer even though I just won an award in July [at my first AMV contest ever no less @_@] but it was only a staff favorite award, not a category award....does that still count 0.o?

Not to mention I have never won an award, although I consider myself among the group of elder editors, most of which HAVE won awards. I just have never bothered submitting to a contest until this year.

How/where will we be uploading these videos? I just joined about 10 minutes ago and can't figure out where on the site I upload them to. I have a couple AMVs on YouTube right now... should I just post the links to them?

Love the idea of detailed opinions as a reward. It'll be really helpful to us amateurs.

well, I guess my answers would be:

I know alot of winners aren't posted here, some of the creators post what they've won on profiles or the videos themselves...but I guess im hoping for thruthfullness, lol.

hmm, Well my answer for winning a contest would probably be if it was at an actually BIG convention. Online doesn't count unless you want it too... -shrugs- Your an Amateur if you say you are. Though for this contest I gotta put a bit of a restriction on it- so Ill say if you've won a BIG convention contest. Ill accept things such as people's choice awards and that, but no actually catagory...

And about just being new, i know there is a restriction for right now, but yes if your vids are on another site, than all i need is the link.

DO NOT post them here. Your going to have to still fill out the submission form on the site. And plus it's still early!!

I'm planning on entering the video im working on tonight... 3 hours into it and the timing/effects are looking amazing... but the storyline dosent flow right to me and I might have to redo some stuff...

oh, btw its my first video ever..

yeah.. ever..

so by amature... trust me i take the cake =p however, I program computers as a hobby, so it wasent difficult to figure out
