jacon doesn't play this sort of crap in the contest.

i did the lame ass "beg for a crowd reaction" thing for jacon like 2 years ago and the knew better than to play it.

yeah fuck it whatever I give up. My shit wasn't like that Worst AMV ever made crap, and it doesn't beg for a crowd reaction... it just gets it. And as for all this random 4chan shit... I never even been to 4chan once, so whatever.

You go make your amv's for yourself, cuz yer the only 1 who likes them anyway. I swear u guys wouldn't like half of the ideas I have for AMV's. So go edit your pointless pieces of crap, and throw in all the transition you cna think of, because none of them are actually needed, and its never gonna amount to more than just random anime clips on top of some music (prolly Lincon Park cuz no1 can think of anything else here)... both of which you contributed nothing toward its creation. So go rip that footage, and steal that song, cuz in the end it doesn't even matter.

nope... that was aimed at the search results you can find by going to youtube, and typing "Lincoln Park AMV", and if it just so happens that some1 used LP for that contest and won, well then I guess my point is proven.

and there's a difference between beggin for a crowd reaction a getting a crowd reaction. I watched what u sent them 2 yrs ago, and yes that BEGGED for a crowd reaction so much that it was pathetic. On the other hand I ask "Who likes Hard Gay?" And the crowd goes in an uproar. That's the difference of begging for a crowd reaction and getting it.

And no I'm not giving up in the way u think... I'm just giving up on this thread, and of trying to convince u of the shinanigans that went on at that contest, so please just let it die, cuz I have given up. If you don't want originality in an AMV all u had to do was just say "that's not what the judges were looking for" and be done with it, cuz my next AMV was gonna be nothing except for a still of the same image for about 3 mins or so, and the crowd was gonna go crazy for that 1 as well, but I get the feeling u guys wouldn't have liked it either, since I didn't have to put much thought into the visuals. Well fuck you guys and what you think, cuz I do my shit for the crowd, and as long as they like it, it's not gonna bother me how a few little know it all editors disagree with the masses.

Hello all, I was at megacon and had a video in there with the rest of you. Reading those posts was certianly interesting...

I agree that the video that won best comedy didn't really deserve it, but maybe I just didn't get it (having never heard the song/seen the anime) or so I thought. I think what you have to understand is that they aren't giving away awards for "best crowd response" becuase they can't do that ahead of time, and you don't know that the judges weren't reviewing the entries privately and laughing their asses off at the pussy video. Honestly superboi, I don't think your video deserves best comedy either. I greatly enjoyed watching the crowd react to your video, but the video itself wasn't really very funny to me personally. In the end there has to be a winner, and there weren't that many good comed entries. I think thats all there is to it.

Did anyone else think that by sushi playing the inuyasha video they were making a joke at the contestants' expense? I mean... it was so bad, it was funny, right? Well I entered my first ever AMV into the contest with the idea of "If it gets shown, I'll be happy". They did, the crowd response put me through the roof, and I was indeed very happy. Not to feel all high and mighty after one "successful" amv, but showing that inuyasha video (what resoulution was that anyway, 64x48?) in the same contest as my entry (that I spent many, many more hours on) seemed a little insulting. Anyone else feel the same way?

Speaking of my entry *ahem* I'd like to know what you guys, fellow editors, (not raving FMA fans) thought of my first attempt at the whole deal. I made the FMA/Tenacious D "The Metal" amv shown just before the contest winners. Just wondering if you thought it was one of the videos that contributed to this year's crappy-ness or if it was indeed worthy of being shown amongst greater videos.

I am a member of Spork of Doom (the group that made the video that won best comedy at MegaCon 2007) and the main editor of the group. I'm sorry you feel like you do superboi. I'm not here to get in a flame war with you. I am here to say that if you care this much about winning with your AMV's I think your doing AMV's for the wrong reasons. I create AMV's for fun. Getting crowd reactions and winning awards is just a plus. I also respect my fellow editors and the organizers of the contests. I feel sorry for the people at AnimeSushi who tried their best to put on a good contest and had to deal with you bashing them in their own forums. As far as you not being able to show the video at JaCon you’re the one who submitted the video to the MegaCon contest. If you wanted to show it at JaCon you should have checked their rules ahead of time. I won't even defend my own video. It's better to those who understand the real reason we did the video.

This will be my only post unless someone wants to know more about any of Spork of Doom's videos.

I'm seriously sorry bout that whole mess. Your right though. Its my own fault for not looking at the JaCon rules sooner. Besides, this is forcing me to work on other amv's that u guys might enjoy a bit more.

I didn't mean to get all pissy b4, but it seriously took me a long time to come up with that. I had a nagging feeling I was ruining my amv with all that extra crap, but b4 all I had was Hughes and Genma talking on the phone and just hands in the corner. The rest of the screen looked so barren to me, so I felt like something was supposed to go there, and thats where I messed up. I kept consulting my friends, and they enjoyed ever little thing I put into it, but I forgot that they aren't amv creators and didn't think of how it might come off to others that do proper work.

I'm fixing that for my JaCon submission which I've been balls to the wall workin on now since I have to start from scratch, and have less than a month to get it done now. I think your group will really enjoy it too. I'm not even expecting them to show my amv with what I'll be submitting, so even if I lose its no big deal. This is something that'll be funny enough if they decide to show it. It's not even technically an amv... its more like an Anime Movie Audio Clip Video. Its an mp3 w/ sound so I don't care. if they show it cool, if they don't what ever.

I just never really liked MegaCon though, and I think thats what set me off. Their events always seem to come apart in certain areas. To be honest the only good thing about MegaCan is the dealers room, and something about spending money so I can go in a room to spend more money just doesn't feel right to me, so I usually avoid it as much as possible. I'm just there for the people really, and I guess I had my hopes too high for the amv contest.

I promise something like that won't happen again. I'm tired of drama, and if u guys want you can call me what you want, cuz I'm really over this. I deserve it, and I was acting like an ass, so I'm sorry.

PS - I have to ask this though cuz I can't get it out of my mind, but after this I swear its over... It seriously took a group of people to think of putting "Show Me Your Pussy" to Azumanga Daioh?
