Great job to everyone, seeing everyon's expressions and comments during the showing of AMV Hell was just about as entertaining as the video itself :D

Anyone know where I can download German 101?

Sorry for the double post, but JCD, Scintilla is right, your video was very well received, and I know I though it was quite a fun video to watch.

Congratulations to all the winners. It was great meeting all of the creators in person and being part of the amv pannel this year. Well time to get cracking on another amv. See you guys all around.

My congrats, too! The contest was really super-tight this year - all the entries were competitive!

My creative juices flow once more!

Out of couriousity, can anyone tell me how my video was recieved by the audience? It was "Strike On" set to Princess Nine (Baseball stuff)
I liked it, at least. Certainly not award winning quality, but nice enough to watch.

Well, the only one I voted for that won was the Richard Marx one. Not surprising to me, since it was the strongest video in a weak category.

I was actually kinda disappointed in VicBond007's video. I guess stuff from a relationship-type game can't really get me engaged.

I was rather surprised to see not just one, but two "Rose Of Versalles" videos in the competition. A bit disappointed that they only used the score from "The Princess Bride" for one, rather than the actual dialog from the film. That's what I was hoping for.

I was also kinda happy the Nightwish video won, even if I didn't think it was the best video in the category. (Still waiting for someone to do a vampire video with "Sleeping Sun".)

Overall, a nice contest this year.

'I'm not left handed.' - Yes I made this video. I actually never thought about using the dialouge from the movie. Interesting idea... However using different sword fights wouldn't have worked as well with the dialogue. (And there wasn't enough footage for one long fight with the same person...maybe audrey...I'll look into it) The title was choosen so people knew exactly where the music came from. (Grin) The second choice for the title was 'None of the footage has been speed up.' Because I didn't increase the speed on any of the footage, I think I slowed down a few pieces. It didn't have any flashing lights or fancy effects. It was just what I thought an action video should be. Just show me the action from the anime, clean and simple.

The problem with Rose of Versailles is that until recently it's near impossiable to get DVD quality footage. I bought my DVDs from Italy, and they cost about $300. I know the other person bought his from Japan and they cost $400. I have made several ROV videos after spending so much money for the source footage, and I will make more in the future. It's one of my favorite Animes, and moving up to being my absolute favorite slowly.

Anyways. Congradulations to all the winners. I didn't expect to make the finals of the contest, but very delighted to make it after I think 4 years of entering. (Now if only I could make the finals at AX).

Might as well put my comments here:

ROMANTIC: Wasn't expecting "Waiting for You" to win this category, as I thought that this category was going to go to either the FFX video (which definitely had a feel of a typical music video) or Vlad's "Love in Digital" video (which was the one that I voted for).

SERIOUS: Part of me felt a little disappointed that the EVA video won this category, as part of me would have preferred that the category would have went to one of the more unique and/or artistic videos that were entered in the category (I voted for the "Versailles Paradise" and liked "A Different Side of Me" and Aluminum Studio's "Silence")

ACTION: To me, this was probably the hardest category for me to guess a winner since the only one that really wowed me (and got my vote) was Orange Kitty's "Dark Journey" video (although I may need to see the "End of All Hope" video again to get a better opinion).

UPBEAT: This category was all about the Masters (aka Kusoyaro and VicBond007) vs. the Majin Buu "Pink Dinosaur" video (the guilty pleasure video of the convention. In the end, I went with Kusoyaro's "Build Me Up Buttercup".

COMEDY: As people might have guessed, this was the hardest category to choose a winner for due to all the excellent comedy videos. For this category, I decided to vote for the second-best video for this category, and give the best one my "Best in Show" vote. Thus, my pick for the comedy category was "Disney in D(Wchang) Minor" (which was definitely a hoot) while my "Best in Show" vote went to "AMV Hell".
