Sweet^ I look forward to seeing that.
My friends talk about how our Life Lessons AMV would have won at AFO if it wasn't for the Emo Song. We have a similar entry in the Hyper Dub Contest on Sunday. It's a bit more polished than Life Lessons. I still only spent like 3 days working on it though, compared to my main action AMV that took 7 months.

Minion - Did I ever meet you at AFO7?
I think I was the only 16 year old in the contest after all.

contest was today.
congrats to aqua for...was that best in show? not entirely sure because anime sushi 4channed the catagory names :/
great success  . creepy, like you said (btw, the rat on a stick part made a me lol. broke up the mood for me just for a moment)

also, unlimited for winning best action with his karas video. that was the shit
(despite your audio choice :p )

this was the worst amv contest i've attended to date.
last year was pretty bad with the 6 or 7 advent children amvs. wasn't this bad though.
this year, they struggled with "technical difficulties". after vlc crashed once, they switched to wmp, which was more problematic. there were like 5 crashes (at least) and about half an hour worth of delays.
(how does i shot vlc?)

did they even get to show the drama winner? :|

the first 6 or so videos were really horrible newbie videos, including some eva vid where scenes kept getting re-used, and some inuyasha vid that i couldn't even see.
like a quarter of the room was gone before they showed a good video.

it actually made me so sick of amvs for the day, i skipped out on the dub contest and aqua's amv panel (sorry, how did it go?)

bahh, and i'll probably even enter next year despite it all
at least anime sushi is nice to deal with unlike metrocon :|

edit: oh ya, and rozard showed up. talked to him in the dealers room

Congratulations guys^
I was also surprised by level of crap...
I only got a chance to meet a couple people, but w/e.
My entry was the Outlaw Star/Bebop video with "Empire" by Queensryche. It started out with a telephone ringing. When I get some time, I might go back and try to improve upon some of the weaker scenes of it.

Hopefully they get all the technical issues sorted out for the dub contest today. I'm looking especially forward to it, even if half the entries suck. I submitted 3 entries for it.

Ah yes, who made the Azumanga vid that won comedy?

well, i thought the dub contest was yesterday, but i guess it was today (or it was a replay)
i walked in some time during the pokemon won. around the "use shotgun" line.
was better than the amv contest.
didn't see any problems while i was there, other than minimizing the video window to open another one, instead of just having a playlist ready.
the videos were a little better than i was expecting. not "awsome", but fun to watch.

unlimited: i didn't even know it was LP until the credits. i was liking the song, actually. just had to get a word in on it :p

Heh...the dub contest was interesting.
Three of the entries were by my group and I, and the Pokemon one was the only other entry not by us. There's was very good - they put in a lot of effort.

Too bad you didn't get to see the first one of ours before the pokemon dub...it seemed to get the most response out of the three.
I have it hear if you're curious.

They never really made a decisive judgment, so no one ever saw the $100.
Still though, we had a chance to showcase what we do. Colby and I got to share our insight on it at the end. That's what we originally wanted to do when I suggested the idea of a fakedub panel several months before the con.

Ah yes, we all still got an anime dvd at the end for participating.
