The deadline is today. Then it will have to be judged. Then Zarxrax will have to update the first post with the link and the new audio source.
I got my signature removed for being too big. even though I've had the same picture since the AMV Hell CE was going on. In fact back then it was bigger! Ah well, I hardly post on here anyway!

Generally, that takes a day or so, depending on the number of entries. When I entered for round 10, it took longer because there were lots of people.

I'm sure this week's song, which EVERYONE has heard at some point in their lives, will have a lot of entries.

What I really want to know is ... what is planned for round 20? This is AMV Hell, after all, so it has to go out with a bang!

Round 18 song is now posted.

Also, there will be a very big, important announcement later today.

Ok, here is the big announcement. There is both some good news, and some bad news.

The bad news is that, I have decided NOT to make a compilation video featuring all of the entries that have been submitted. At current count, there have been about 300 videos submitted so far. The logistics or putting it all together have simply gotten far out of hand. Furthermore, such a compilation video would be reaaallly long, and it would be som boring that no one would want to watch it anyways.

There will still be a compilation of the winners and some other notable entries, but there will be no "full" compilation. Please continue to add your credits to the wiki page though, as I do intend to at least keep up a list of who all participated.

Now for the good news.

I just re-launched amvhell.com, and would like to use it to foster the creation and enjoyment of amvhell-style "short video clips". The most important new addition to the site is the new video boards. I encourage people to create short clips, post them on youtube or somewhere similar, then post a link to it on our video board. You can post all of your amv hell ce entries on there if you want.

There is also a board for work in progress videos. This board is for anyone to post a demo of any amv that they are working on, in order to get feedback on it.

Finally, sometime in the future I would like to launch amvhell.com blogs. Anyone who regularly creates short amvhell-style clips would be able to create an account on it, and post their videos. This would be a nice way of archiving your clips.

I apologize to anyone who was hoping for a full compilation video, but I hope this good news makes up for it :D

I don't know if people wouldn't want to watch them, but yea, it probably would be too long.

I guess that means I'll have to have a winning entry, then....

...drat.

I liked the idea of someone giving a AMV prompt each week. I sometimes (okay, a lot) can't find inspiration to create. Is there a possibility of this kind of "non-competition" prompting happening on the AMVhell boards?

...

Would you allow me to make a LiveJournal community for that purpose if it hasn't been done yet? I'd love to administer a new competition like CE.

Just a thought...

Yes, I would like AMV Hell CE type competition to continue to happen on the amvhell.com boards. After AMV Hell CE ends, I will probably start organizing some stuff like that. But rather than saying like "use this song", I would like there to be more freedom... maybe something like... "make a video that uses PIE"

I don't really know anything about livejournal. I would prefer to keep a large community all in one place though, namely, the amvhell.com boards. Also, my boards arent just limited to anime, anything is welcome.
