It took me a minute, but as soon as I heard the second half of the song, the idea came. To me, it was obvious. I look forward to seeing what you all have in mind for this.

BTW, the winning entry for challenge 16 has me rolling...amazing!

Oh, jeez. I bet yours would have won if it had higher quality, pyrolord. Your concept is way more awesome than the last winner. I would have liked to show off mine like you did, but I saved it in wmv (I made it with movie maker, so I didn't have a choice). If anyone is interested enough, PM me and I'll log on to AIM. I agree with MarlinBeta. Pyrolord's vid is pretty nicely done, actually makes sense with the concept too, though the quality was kinda low. Mine pretty much sucked this round, I've done so much better than this. :tilts head in shame: But I'll prove it in the next round, I can promise you that! XD

No offense, since about 90% of what I make is total and utter crap, but I really don't think it was the way the site encoded it that messed with the quality.

It really didn't help that you had a giant parental guidance box in the corner of the video, and it looked kind of obvious that it was pulled from TV. The only thing worse than doing that is capturing it off of a video camera that recorded the show while it was on the TV screen. I don't know about everyone else, but there are a few things I hate when it comes to watching AMVs.

1. TV video captures:
(if it says [adult swim] or UPN kids in the corner, you probably shouldn't be using it anyway.)

2. Fan-sub subtitles.
(Even I'll admit to this being one of my early video faux pas, but even I don't post them. So, if you didn't put them there, then it isn't entertaining.)

3. Just about anything that uses Linkin Park.
(They've been done to death! There are a few other's I would include, but we all have to admit even though they change the anime, it's always the same video.)

4. Videos with no thought to them.
(I like to see some concept even if it's not quite done right. A hard rock song and random clip flashes does not an AMV make.

I really don't envy you guys having to sit through so many ridiculously bad videos week after week. Still, I'm glad you have it! Gives a geek like me something to try for once in a while that gives me a good laugh along the way!

Um... Actually the origional file was pretty close to dvd quality <_<;

And Youtube does re-encode video files incase you didn't know.
I just realized I uploaded the wrong quality version of it up there though, heh.

Well, I'm glad you thought it was pulled from a TV, because it wasn't. I imported some vector .eps files of the Fox logo and rating system into the video project to go along with the audio theme here... it's not like I recorded it from the Fox channel (which it doesn't even air on) like you're telling me it was. All the other things that you said about some amvs I can agree on though.

Thanks for letting me know that. I'm sorry if i saw it wrong. I never even noticed the FOX logo in the corner, I think that was the quality issue rearing it's ugly head.

Did anyone use any part outside of the chorus? I kind of think it was done to death.....

We really should do an AMV graveyard for stuff like this.......hmmmm.

You know, concepts that have been run into the ground so much that they should all be compiled into one video with the unspoken promise that they will never be made again.

Just a thought. And once again, I'm sorry, if I saw it the wrong way, but maybe it's a good thing that it came across that way. If that was the look you were going for.
