The only thing that was problematic for the last round was the lack of comedic potential, evidenced by the lack of humor displayed by all the entries I've seen (save for the "TROOPS" one, which was mildly amusing). It was a tough song to make light of, to be sure. I'm pretty confident this round is going to be a hoot...

I have to once again apologize to the judges for making them go through a true AMV Hell. I'll admit that some people had good AMVs, but I was just doing some research on how many reallly bad AMVs are out there, and I actually got sick to my stomach watching them, just get on You Tube, and simply search AMV. I think that is the true meaning of Hell. Any one can spot a bad video, but I didn't know how many different ways they could be bad. I got enough to fuel 2 or three contests, or set one up for a movie. But who would sit thruogh that?

Seriously, I hope round 18 goes a little better, cause I know I at least tried this time around, but who knows.
You got that right, and the actual "good" amvs on youtube are not always uploaded by the real amv artist... which pisses me off to be honest.

I've even found a person who actually took all of my footage (including 100% of the edits) from one of my best amvs, and replaced it with a linkin park song and claimed it their own >_>

I apologize in advance for the following rant. I think I just snapped. Here, I'll put it in small font so you can skip over it if you like.
GWCommander wrote:Well i hate to say this but I do agree with some of the people here. They're are some of this videos that arnt funny at all. Im not saying that becuase I lost but some of these were just not funny at all. I think the best thing to do is set up some sort of poll and let people decied which is the funnist. I know that might be hard to do. But if AMV hell could get enough support I think that they can pull it off. Oh and please someone watch my video and give some kind of opinion on it. Id appreciate it.

If you think it's such a good idea, what's stopping you from doing it? Zarxrax and co. don't have superior resources or anything, they just have motivation. This and the other AMV Hells were just ideas they had. They're doing it their way, and it doesn't matter to them if some people don't think it's a good idea as long as people still participate and as long as they enjoy it. If you think there's a better way to do this, you don't have to do it vicariously through AMV Hell, you can go do it yourself. Besides, your idea wouldn't help make the videos funnier, it would just change the way the videos are chosen. You can have the most advanced selection process possible, and if all of the entries are mediocre, you're gonna end up with a mediocre winner no matter what.

Oh, and you weren't supposed to give your video its own entry on the org. It might still be used in a future compilation of AMV Hell. But in any case, you want an opinion of it? Your video isn't funny. It's just a bunch of random violence from the first Samurai Champloo episode set to the required song. None of it had anything to do with the song and the only part that came close to being funny was the "it's alright, it's alright" part, which was spoiled by your failed attempt at lip-syncing. That is my honest opinion, and for some reason, I don't feel like sugar coating it.

Sorry if I'm being a complete jerk, but I'm not in a great mood right now and your poor grammar, spelling, and ideas don't help. I'll probably apologize tomorrow morning, but that won't change any of what I said from being true.

Aaaaaand g'night.

No i dont mind a rant every once in a while. If u didnt like it thats cool. Its just a bunch of random hummor. And it was lipscynced maybe ur pc sucks or something. Yes my grammer sucks but this is the interent not an english paper. I put it on the ORG after i entered it instead of Youtube or Google video (google didnt take it) becuase if people wanted to download it that was fine with me. I thought it went well with the song saying its an ordinary day but in fact it wasnt an ordinary day. Oh well. Naw im not mad at u i agree with u on telling people how it is. Just next time dont hide it in small text. Just say it out loud. And ur the 1st to hate it so. Congrats!

That link was the video I submitted for round 17. I wonder if anyone liked it, besides Perfect Chaos.

Can someone else comment?

I just want to take this chance, well, just cos i feel like it, to say PLEASE PLEASE download mine and sakuraslight's podcast on anime music. I have been doing it for a few months now and sakuraslight has just joined. All the info is on http://www.petersbrain.co.nr the new episodes with sakuraslight are in mp3 format while the previous episodes are in apple's AAC format (m4a) as it was originally meant to be updated in iTunes. Untill they rejected it on episode 6  I will get round to converting the episodes in time. Either way watch my signiture below for info on new episodes. E-mail animemusicpodcast@googlemail.com for requests, raves, rants and so on. I NEED E-MAILS.

Apologies for the off topic.
I got my signature removed for being too big. even though I've had the same picture since the AMV Hell CE was going on. In fact back then it was bigger! Ah well, I hardly post on here anyway!

Zarx said that he's not going to do a compilation video for the non-winning amvs in this contest

I never said my video would make it into a losers compilation. I simply said that i can't wait till the final compilation comes out because i can't put anything else in if i wanted to.
