I guess that was just stating the obvious, huh?

NeoAC wrote:Admitted, it was very hard to find something that would work for this particualar selection, and I couldn't come up with anything (A couple of ideas kicked around, but nothing serious), but that's one of the major points of this contest. Taking a clip that has not comedic value and turning it into comedy is one of the major goals of AMV Hell. Just look at Round number 3 (Hurt= song about drug abuse; clip= making fun of slurred speech in the song) or Janzki's use of the Soviet National Anthem in AMV Hell 3. The great AMV creators can find just a shred of hilarity in any song, and match it up with the right anime to totally expose it. That's what makes the result so enjoyable to watch.
Well, that's why I chose that song. I knew it had some comedic value to it and I wanted to see what everyone could whip up from it. But hey, if you didn't like the selection you didn't like it. I'll make a vid to the source when I have the proper time to devote to making something comedic, which isn't right now. Thing'll clear up for me after Matsuricon, ACEN and finals are over with. Sadly, I doubt I'll be able to get anotehr entry together for this or next week.

Like others have said, AMV Hell is really all about being clever with something non-obvious. I think a song like that was a good choice for this reason, and a lot of people did manage to come up with some really clever stuff for it.

Congratulations Fall_Child42! You once again make me feel inadequate.

Since I am relatively happy with my entry, I put it on YT.

Check it out, man.

Seriously though, I'm starting to doubt that I'll ever come anywhere near as funny as I was with my Log video a few rounds back. And even that wasn't very funny. Still, I'll continue to do my damndest. After all, maybe someone thinks I'm funny.

Again, nice editing, but little to no comedic value, I found.

I guess you could say the same for mine, though. I thought it was pretty funny myself, but the two people I showed it to didn't think it was as funny as I thought. Go figure. :/ I uploaded it, but YouTube is still processing it, so I can't post it right now to show you, but I'll post the link when it's up.

and here I thought I would have won :?

anyways, watch my entry here

remember, it's yousendit, so only 24 more people will be able to watch.
I did that together with my friend clemens amler in approximately 15 hours. there is a lot of subtle humour in it, so I guess that's the reason why we lost. oh well...

This was my first entry, for 18, and I'm not too proud of it.

This was the second

I almost thought it would have gotten a few giggles.
And I thought nobody read these.

Wow. Your video was really put together well. You clearly put a lot of effort into it. It just... uh... wasn't very funny... :(
