AMV Hell 5: The Read Headed Stepchild doesn't sound like a bad idea, if someone is willing to compile all the losing... err... I meant, runner up entries....

(all 3 of my entries lost, but that's life -_____-)
We could, but we have no right to call it "AMV Hell" since that's Zarxrax's name. Plus, have you seen the list of submissions? It's endless...
Nah.... only 283 so far, according to the wiki IICC (if I count correctly)
Assuming, say, 50 new entries this round we'd have a nice 333 entries (half of the number of the beast  ) - if every entry had maxed out the 30 second limit that'd be "only" 166 minutes + intro/extro - that's watchable :)

OK, with only 23 songs + the ones of round 10 it's perhaps being only "hearable" (what's the analogon to watchable for audio?) when having fun with some friends :)

And if one's not being too picky about audio-visual quality that should fit nicely on a CD, after finishing it.

Where do we have to send our bribes to for Zarxrax to either make this colliction or burn it on DVD and send it to someone who's willing to edit it? (I'd perhaps do it, but I have less than zero experience in video editing :( - and I only have dial-up so I wouldn't be able to upload it once it's finished...)

1. 45% are not stupid bad.

2. 85 p.g. come on (make it to 100)

3. it be easier to make a new one

4. what if some did not wount there video in it (didn't like vid, made for amv hell only, etc., etc.)

The equation went something like this: anime convention attendees flock to the AMV contest screenings and the AMV Hell events (all three compilations were shown at Tekko this year). However, the AMV "overflow" screenings don't get half the attention of the former which isn't really fair to those who worked hard on some contest-worthy material.

That got me thinking...

Why not have an AMV Hell-type event where pre-reg'ed attendees submit snippets, up to a month before the con, to a compilation (about 40 minutes in length) to be shown exclusively at that convention? In turn, I would send you the compilation to tinker with at your discretion and start a running "library" of DVDs in continuation of the AMV Hell series.

Song selection process as well as what to name the event / panel is still being worked on. There would also be a brief Q&A period after the screening.

The panels won't be decided upon for another month or few, so I wanted to get your thoughts before I said anything about wanting this idea to be set in stone. Do you think we can come to some viable agreement?

Sure, since I can't enter my own contest.

EDIT: Yay! I'm finally on top!
And I thought nobody read these.

back!

Post by AmPsy » Thu May 04, 2006 2:34 am

Hey all! I'm back and ready to compete in the last round, which looks to be an interesting one. I'm two for two (biggie huh? yeah right!) and I'm hoping to feel the warm giddy feeling of victory once again! I just finished a video that I've been working on since before round 10. Here's the link if anyone is interested:

GOOD LUCK to all the participants of round 20! I'm going to miss this forum when CE is all over... T.T

PS
Dezbo, I love the AMVG banner! Looks sweet!

I'm glad and sad that you're back. Glad because you make great videos (your new one is great btw) and sad because you'll probably make an entry for Albuquerque and blow mine out of the water. Good thing I haven't submitted it yet because that means I can tweak it so it has a better chance against you, Mr. Planet-of-the-Apes-Reference.
