Many have already gone out. However, most vids that were submitted within the past couple of days likely will not receive confirmations until shortly after the deadline.MycathatesyouAMV wrote:Are confirmations going out ?
Confirmations have been sent for vids that were submitted prior to 8pm Thursday.

Nope, because then everyone will be asking.MycathatesyouAMV wrote:Any chance I can get a check if mine went through ?
Confirmation notices (or correction request notices in some cases) are being sent in the order received. People who sent earlier naturally get the benefit of receiving their notices first.
I will say, however, that I have *obtained* (but not viewed) all videos that have been submitted as of this moment, and I do send immediate notices in any instances where I have difficulty downloading an entry. So, if you've successfully completed the submission form, you can rest assured I have your entry.

i know today is the last day to enter, but i'm very curious and the full meaning of one of the rules...
Question:
Can I use anime-styled
non-Japanese footage such as Boondocks,Thundercats, Iron Man, or Avatar: The Last Airbender as the primary footage of my AMV?
Answer:
Yes and no. Though the rules do broadly say the words “anime-styled,” entries primarily using non-Japanese footage must “fit the spirit of an Anime Music Video event”.
That means the judges will very heavily scrutinize such entries and will lean on the side of disqualification. However,
if you think you can create an entry using anime-styled non-Japanese footage in a way that honors anime and the AMV craft,
we’ll give your entry due consideration.
This is an experiment we are trying, and depending on the response we may decide to continue or rescind it in the future.
i'm mostly confused in the way of having something honor Anime and the AMV craft... I've edit quite a few videos using MLP, and would like to submit 1 or 2 - and possible a couple in the Trailer section as well... couldi just submit a couple and if their not what your looking for then they just get disqualified... or just not bother to attempt?

"Send it. If it's astonishing, and if the show's genesis has some sort of clear tie and/or relevance to anime (even if it wasn't made in/by/for Japan), we'll debate amongst our team and the powers-that-be to find some way to justify letting it in, and even if we don't, we might try to find a way to do something cool with it (such as Rider's Bending Inferno vid which was the final pre-show vid at the AX2012 AMV competition). Be advised that such vids would incur far more scrutiny than a typical AMV would though, because once we open that door, we'd have a hard time closing it."
That said, cool as MLP may be, I personally do not consider it to be anime or have any roots in anime. It just happens to be popular among the same communities that happen to like anime. Shows such as Avatar, Korra, and Boondocks on the other hand have clear roots to anime (IMHO), even though they're not made by/for Japan. But that's just my opinion, and both views are open to debate.

So, uh... if there's anybody who intends to submit an AMV that has not yet filled out the registration form and obtained their submission code, I recommend you do so posthaste.
I verify each registration manually and I send each registration email manually. I hope to be able to sneak in some much needed sleep (I pulled an all-nighter checking submissions last night and I'm still not done) so keep that in mind as the clock ticks. Also, the registration page will absolutely be closed down on time. The submission page will be left up a tiny couple hours later (I won't say how many, but it will be very few) to be fair to anyone who slipped in under the wire and registered at the last minute.
