I remember watching the Still Preoccupied with 1985 AMV. The room went nuts! Wow I can't believe it's been 5 years since then! That probably wasn't the beginning of the trend, but every year I try to catch as many AMVs as possible and always the finalists. There is never a shortage that I can remember A shortcut in the research would be to scan the upbeat and comedy categories. I don't think the source material will ever completely go away.
I liked Hitler's AMV choice - FMA set to Linkin Park --- It's true genius! I am disappoint that I may never see that clip again
