All in all a GREAT year for AMVs! Keep up the GREAT work and thank you for bearing with me through this year! I also have to say that ACTION was a tie by the votes, and it had to be decided by judge tie breaker and that was an overwhelming tie breaker where out of 6 judges all SIX were in accord to say Shattered Rozes was the winner!!! I did not even have to break their tie!
CONGRATULATIONS ALL!

Re: AnimeUSA 2016 AMV Contest *Main Contest Finalists Posted!*
Personal comments from someone who entered the contest and attended the screenings:
-While some categories were pretty obvious, I felt Romance/Sentimental was going to the hardest category to choose a favorite. While Suki Da did have the AX and Otakon wins under its belt, with the various videos that received acclaim at AWA Expo this year (in particular, the runner-up video) and the Princess Tutu/Sesame Street video, there's a lot of different ways this category could have gone.
-Anyone else attending the con assumed that the Trailer competition was a little more iffy in terms of predicting a winner thanks to Scott Sterling starting off the contest (as some people attending the contest may not arrive until after the video played)?
-My own entries aside, I'm pleased that Splat! got a nice turnout with the audience, as I personally feel that it's one of those underrated videos that can easily get lost in a crowd of awesome upbeat videos.
Congrats to the winners.

Very good points there. You are certainly correct about the number of awesome romance/sentimental videos there, I just wish people would not walk out during them! they miss the good stuff to come!!!! and it was close, though the closest category audience vote and that was ACTION... suprised me when i found out about it (I actually do not count ballots I man the room while the rest get to go and have loud boisterous laughs while I get to sit and talk about something heheh it's the drawback having a room that has to be staffed when it's open. )
now about the trailer aspect and thought, though it is a valid thought, that is the same for any category that comes first and what video comes first. This is why I have three showings of the main contest so people can come in and see it and return for what they missed the first time
I loved watching all of your videos, and splat was good but honestly when i first saw it (either neko 2015 or ama 2016 i wasn't so sure... same with cooking with the book by kyci. all good. I just saw your location toon, and i just realized i know that area! I grew up in northern virginia!

Ah! I'm so glad the audience liked my Gurren - An American Musical AMV! Anime USA was one of my very first conventions, so it's a great feeling to enter and win Best in Show

Congrats to the winners! Def have to retire Scott Sterling... it has had a good run and I think will only be at a few more cons.
