I might enter new stuff or even if not new my old vids could use some more exposure. They haven't been given much con participation.

Trophies came in!
Well, as promised, the trophies for Anime Destiny's AMV Contest have come in. They look quite nice. The logo (Bus Driver Tanaka, the con's mascot) didn't come out quite as nice on a dark background, but on a white background, the image is nice and clear.
As you can see, there's 4 basic awards and one large Best in Show award.
There's still 2 weeks to enter. All information about the contest can be found at the website in my signature. We're trying to get as many entries as possible and put on a very good AMV Contest. The focus is to get your work exposed to more people, show people some very cool work, and to overall have a fun, entertaining AMV contest. We really want you all to enter and we hope these will further entice you to enter (besides just the chance to get your AMV(s) shown).
And as a side note, if you do live in the US and win an award, but are not able to make the con, we will ship the trophy to you free of charge.
So why not enter? What've you got to lose? Check out the rules now and start uploading.

I don't mean to sound insulting, but your anime club has a local con that can afford this stuff? Wow! I guess that's not insulting since it means your anime club has some good funds and knows how to take care of it's members.
If I had something new or without a "win," I'd send something, but alas no such luck :-/. Those are really nice looking and quite tempting, but don't wanna be a "troll" and whatnot. I guess all the more reason for me to make new stuff more often (damn slow US releases )
I hope you guys get some good entries and have a good time. Good luck with the contest and keep making good vids
P.S. *me hopes silver_moon's video that I link below wins something* I so wanted to give it my VAT Guest Award, but she didn't submit it to anything at AWA
<---OMG BIAS

We've actually been in really good condition for quite some time now. Hence, the idea to start up a con (with hopes that we don't suffer too much of a loss). I know I've convinced the staff that AMV Contests are an extremely important event (as much as a cosplay contest, maybe more) at any con, and hence why I got pretty good funding.I don't mean to sound insulting, but your anime club has a local con that can afford this stuff? And even if you can't submit, spreading word of the contest helps.

Certainly. I understand since I was an officer of an anime club way back in college and we got decent funds. Sadly most of it went into projectors, screens, receivers, etc., but 'twas nice to be taken care of . I wish I had that budget for my personal anime collection .suberunker wrote:We've actually been in really good condition for quite some time now. At the same time, the most we did was a Costume Contest, nothing as ambitious as you guys. I wish you luck with it though. Would be a nice little "con" in the westcoast area during a time where there aren't too many cons (i.e. AX and Fanime in the summer).
Spread the word? Well now that I've actually "caught up" on a few things and read this thread (stupid life getting in the way ), perhaps. It certainly looks like it's going to be handled well and the awards are nice so no real reason for most members not to submit...well other than me, but that's my own personal thing .
Again, good luck!
