Who cares if I deserved to win? I slapped a bunch of cartoons together with sound from a movie to make something that would entertain me for 180 seconds. It's not like I'm curing cancer here.
You, as an editor, should care if you deserved to win or not. Winning when you shouldn't, doesn't mean you're a good editor. As an editor, you should be striving to become better, and if you honestly don't care if you deserved to win, then you probably shouldn't have, and probably shouldn't have entered, hell, you should probably quit making your "AMVs" altogether if you don't seem to care.

trailer parodies aren't AMVs in my opinion.

Well here's something different... (I wanted to do this in a separate post anyway)

I thought the quality of the finalists this year was great. I was pleased to see an increase of comedy/upbeat videos. I was also surprised (but not in a negative way) to see several Weird Al videos. (three, was it?) There used to be complaints of overuse, but I haven't seen him used this much in a contest for a while.

I was just a little confused when the awards were announced. After years of showing the winning entries last, hearing that videos shown early in the playlist won awards was strange. I thought Jethro had won grand prize at first. (and there hadn't been time to make title slates, or something)

So congratulations to all the winners. :)

Congrats to the winners. It would have been nice to make it to the finals, but next yeah, ehh? ^)^

Where can I find the links to download the videos in the comp? I'm guessing the anime north forums?

Another thing I'd like to know is where the hell doki doki finds all his music.

2 years in a row, very funny audio.

Last year: My friends are into The Arrogant Worms. Either they mentioned the song, or I found it while looking up band info, I forget.

This year: I bought the Avenue Q CD after seeing The Purpose of Persocoms. ;)
