It's also a nice way to mass-flag stuff for deletion - since AMVs are against their TOS.

Hmmm... hadn't actually thought about that... In fact, I was not aware that AMVs were against either You-Tube's or DailyMotion's TOS, as I've seen tons of them around. I think they're cool as long as you don't claim the anime or the song as your own...

Actually, after seeing some of the stuff on the top 10 percent and the Viewer's Choice awards on this site, I can almost guarantee that some of this stuff will make it into the next set of awards. To be honest, we were not aware of how popular this site was before posting on it and checking out some of the vids, so apologies are in order for that...

As far as the streaming video vs. HQ download goes, you're right, you can download the vids and get much better quality, all that good stuff. The problem arises if: you have slow internet, inability to download, limited hard-drive space. Sure, some of these situations may be a bit contrived, but streaming video is simply easier and much more immediate, so if you don't like the vid you don't have to bother deleting it... I don't know, It just seems easier to me, but everyone is most assuredly entitled to their own opinion.

Thank you all for your constructive criticism, and all of these comments will be taken into consideration. Keep 'em coming!

I think it´s easier to search the best amvs on this site and THAN search it on YT (of course uploaded by the original editor).

I think you don´t: I think it´s better to accept submissions and look on your own.

To the contest itself: Why not?
It actually shows people on YT what really good amvs look like. It´s not easy to improve and to try to make better if you don´t even know that there is a lot more out there.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:

Thanks for your support, that is exactly what we are trying to do.

As for the submissions, being as we were completely unknown before, it was difficult to request such things. Hopefully we will gain some momentum and get some submissions next time, in addition to our searches.

No, that's not how copyright works. It doesn't matter if you claim ownership or not; you don't own the music - you don't have the right to post it.

Alright, well that doesn't change the fact that there are AMVs all over You-Tube, and I haven't seen any of them get flagged for copyright infringement. Thanks for the warning, though.

I've also never seen people i know to be potheads get arrested even when the smell is evedent, doesn't mean they're not breaking the law.

Seriously, I've flagged hundreds of them - and seen thousands get taken down. Half the reason we have a wordfilter here is because we don't endorse breaking their TOS.

A project I was working on got deleted. It got something like a spotlight recommendation before.

As far as I know: www.stage6.com is accepting amvs as streaming sites, but not full episodes and movies. One of the biggest channels is dedicated to the best amvs on the site ("Anime 4").

Why do you flag them? :?
