So you didn't enter the YTMND? Still, if your entry is anything close to that,...well, here's to hoping my drama video can eke out a win, anyway.drewaconclusion wrote:From Nekocon? Submitted two of my new ones. Hoping to see if they made it in or not soon. The suspense is killing me.

Well, the YTMND one won and it's been in enough con's already, so I retired it after Nekocon. I don't think the new one's quite as funny as the YTMND one, but I guess we'll see how it does. It's been posted on the org for a while now if you want to check it out. It's "The Return of the Japanese Idiot".deuceloosely wrote:So you didn't enter the YTMND? Yeah, the suspense is killing me too. I only submitted one into drama, and it's one I finished about two days before the deadline... I really hope it gets in.Teneshi wrote:Submitted two of my new ones. Hoping to see if they made it in or not soon. The suspense is killing me.

Re: Katsucon 15 AMV Contest Deadline December 31st!
This is the last convention before I retire this drama video. I only submit to the conventions I attend because I like hearing the audience reaction (I'm vain like that ) and TekkoshoCon (last April) was the first contest this entry made to the ballot. It would kind of suck if it had to go out of circulation with a final exclusion from a contest, but that's show biz.
Anyway, after a year, it's probably time to make a new video (which I'll finish once I replace the hard drive on this computer)...

I noticed that some of the videos that were submitted to the contest were also submitted on youtube, and they look good, how can I compete with those? I know my video is good, but is it grade A supreme coolness that will have higher chances of winning any awards? I hope my video wins, I spent more than a year working on that video, and I want it to win. Here's my suggestion in bringing the people to the contest, put up previews or 20 seconds of a video segment on youtube. You'll get more views. When the contest is over you may past the real thing. Choose my video.

Okay, so if my original guess was right, we'll get the results tomorrow... But since we haven't received any confirmation of this, I'm hesitant in placing any money on that bet. I'm sorry for my impatience, but does anyone have any idea when we might get word of who got into the contest? And while I'm asking, how is/did the process of selecting going/go?

You could always look at the time between past contests (ie: '08, '07, '06 etc) to get a ball park for about how long it may take.
I'm pretty calm. Que sera sera!! Between editing and trying to get my next costume ready, my mind is pretty occupied which helps a little.

Ah, I wish I were that calm. I simply don't have enough to occupy myself with at the moment (I'm prob'ly not cosplaying), so I'm not quite as zen as you are. Anyways, after a little snooping, I did find that the date last year was February 8th, so seven days before the beginning of the contest. The upside to that is that, at the time, it was announced it was intended to be earlier, so barring any extraneous circumstances, we should have our results sooner than that. The downside is that it still means I'm gonna be obsessively checking back here every day for another week or so.
